Community Futures Tawatinaw Region is proud to be part of the Digital Economy Program. This fantastic, FREE program is focused on helping local businesses create a dynamic online presence.
The Digital Service Squad (DSS) is designed to help small businesses take their businesses online. This program, a partnership between Business Link and Digital Main Street, will help small businesses in Alberta undergo digital transformations and adopt eCommerce practices.
How It Works
The Digital Economy Program is a free service, funded by the Government of Alberta, designed to help your small business expand online.
Participating small businesses will receive access to a digital service squad to help you adopt eCommerce best practices that are essential to success in today’s business environment.

Digital Service Squad (DSS)
The DSS is focused on providing 1-on-1 assistance and digital services to small businesses in any region of Alberta.
DSS Services in the Athabasca County, Westlock County, Thorhild County and Sturgeon County areas will be provided by Community Futures Tawatinaw Region.
Services may include:
- 1-on-1 digital transformation support
- Social media strategy
- Show you how to build a basic website
- Google My Business set up support
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) support
- Help set up a POS solution
- Create customer databases
- Streamline business processes with digital tools
The Digital Economy Program (DEP) provides 1-on-1 support services for small businesses across Alberta, to help them integrate and elevate e-commerce and other digital strategies. The DEP, delivered through Business Link and Digital Main Street, is designed to support the economic recovery for small businesses by offering two main streams of service: ShopHERE powered by Google and the Digital Service Squad programs.
